Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Offline Finder app and service. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or be a member of a circle.

2. The service

Offline Finder lets members of a private circle share their location with one another, end-to-end encrypted. It is provided free of charge, “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

3. Your responsibilities

• Only share the location of, or add to your circle, people who have consented (or whom you are legally responsible for).
• Don’t use Offline Finder to stalk, harass, or surveil anyone without their knowledge and consent. Doing so may be illegal and will get your account terminated.
• Keep your recovery code safe. It’s the only way to restore your encrypted data on a new device, and we cannot recover it for you.

3a. Objectionable content & abusive behavior (zero tolerance)

Offline Finder has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. This is a binding condition of use: by creating an account you agree not to post or share content that is abusive, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable, and not to use the app to abuse or harm others.

• Report: long-press any chat message to report it as objectionable. Reported content is hidden for you immediately and sent to us for review.
• Block: you can block any user; everything they have posted disappears from your view instantly, and we are notified. Manage blocks in Settings → Blocked users.
• Enforcement: we review every report and act within 24 hours — removing violating content and ejecting the user who provided it.

4. Privacy & encryption

Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Your location, messages, places, and SOS coordinates are end-to-end encrypted; we cannot read them. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

5. Termination

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Otherwise, because the service is free, our total liability to you is limited to £100, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost data, missed or delayed alerts, or decisions made in reliance on a displayed location.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. This does not affect any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
